Carolyn Stevens
Artist

About the Artist:

Carolyn’s art career began after her children reached school age. Building on her basic art education she began painting in oils in 1968. Her past husband’s military career allowed her the opportunity to study with artists from coast to coast. Her paintings have been shown and sold from Monterey, California to Key West, Florida.

In 1978 she was invited to join the Susan Scheewe national teaching staff. As one of nine staff teachers, Carolyn has taught classes and demonstrated art supplies for Grumbacher Paint Co. and Martin F. Weber. She has taught workshops all over the United States, primarily along the East Coast. Working with the major art companies she has taught in all mediums: oils, acrylics, watercolor and pen & ink. As a “young” widow this teaching career was a very rewarding experience.

In 1992 Carolyn married C. B. Stevens and decided to retire. She travels throughout the North American Continent but now for pleasure and in a motor home. Carolyn currently pursues her artistic talents in her paintings of her travels but primarily the pristine river area of Dunns Creek where she lives.

Carolyn has reproduced her original painting of Racing for “The Mug” as a mural on a building in Palatka.
