My name is Christine Townsend.
My story begins in a friend’s attic. While cleaning the attic out, we came across an old, very messy oil painting kit. Instead of throwing it out, she offered it to me. My very first painting had a buyer, but, being a true artist at heart, I could not part with it! Since then, I have been self-taught in tole, decorative furniture painting, interior murals and glass painting. To add to my cravings, I am doing water color, quilling and wood carvings.
Recently, I have been fortunate enough to devote a majority of my time to commission work. Painting the portraits of the founders of Rodeheavers Boy’s Ranch was one of my favorite commissions.
Give me your thoughts, and we can dream up something special for you, for a loved one, or a friend. Quilling makes a beautiful personalizes baby or wedding gift. For the man in your life, why not a wood carving? I specialize in wildfowl, wood sticks or relief carving. If you want a painting of something special or a portrait, that can happen, too!
