About the Artist:
Dr. Mark Convoy (EdD) was born and raised in the New York metropolitan area, and currently resides in Ormond Beach, Florida, with wife Susan, and family. Mark’s interest in art began in early childhood, with cartooning, and watercolor painting. Mark learned basic art skills in high school under the teaching of Les Brown of Bogota High School, in Bogota, New Jersey. The Convoys spent 15 years in California, where Mark moved into acrylics and specialized in marine art. While in California, Mark fell in love with the European Impressionists, and American Pop Art. Dr. Convoy’s main influences are, Vincent Van Gogh, Peter Max, Cezanne, Bill Campbell, Monet, Picasso, Leroy Nieman and Warhol. Consistent themes in Mark’s work include works of the great masters, and iconic faces and places, such as The Beatles, the Statue of Liberty, and the New York skyline.
